One way to ensure efficiency while gardening is to keep your tools close by. You could do this by using a big bucket, or just wear old pants that have some deep pockets. If you have your pruning shears, spade, trowel and gloves handy, you will be able to get your gardening chores done much more quickly.

It never hurts to keep a few bags around the house to protect your floors from dirty gardening shoes. When you do this, your flow stays going, and you can just get right back out to your garden and finish quick.

Don’t let the chores for your organic garden pile up. Sometimes it might prove difficult to get in a little gardening time every day. However, you shouldn’t fret, as there are a few things you can do that can minimize the time you spend gardening when you do manage to get to it. If you put the dog outside, weed a few spots in the garden while your dog goes to the bathroom.

It is possible to control weeds with natural methods. Take layers of newspapers and use them for weed control. Weeds must have sunlight in order to grow. If you put a thick layer of newspaper on them, weeds will not be able to get light or air, and they will die! In time, the newspaper will decompose into the soil. When planting seeds in containers, remember that the depth should be at least three times bigger than the seed. There are exceptions, however. Some types of seeds require more direct sunlight than others, and as such they should not be fully covered. Some typical examples are petunias and ageratum. Beer Trap

If slugs are problematic in your garden, you can use an all-natural beer trap to do away with them. To create a beer trap, dig a hole in your garden that is the depth of a glass jar, leaving the mouth of the jar level with the soil. Fill the jar with beer within one inch of the top. Slugs are attracted to beer. They will crawl into the jar and be trapped.
